The Calcasieu Parish School Board will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M., November 22, 2005, at its offices at the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Planning & Construction Department, Chennault Facilities. 3800 Mallard Cove Drive. P.B.#506, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70615 for Barbe High School Baseball Complex Renovations, Hurricane Rita Repair Funds, Bid #2006-03PC. Complete plans and specifications may be obtained from C. Gayle Zembower, Architect, Inc., 704 East School Street, Lake Charles, La. 70607. No Bid shall be considered or accepted unless the bid is accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid and all Additive Alternates. The bid security shall be in the form of certified check or cashier's check drawn on a bank insured by the FDIC, or Calcasieu Parish School Board Bid Bond Form contained in the Front End Documents written by a surety company licensed to do business in Louisiana with a A.M. Best rating of "A" or better, countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond insurer as a licensed agent in this state and who is residing in this state. Bids shall be accepted only from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2163, Act 635, effective January 1, 1989, for the classification Roofing and Building Construction. Surety companies with whom SBA has executed a Preferred Surety Bond (PSB) Agreement will be responsible for determining eligibility in compliance with this regulation. SBA surety bond personnel will be responsible for determining eligibility in compliance with this regulation for those surety guarantees that require SBA?s prior approval. SBA prepared this rule as an interim final rule because its immediate implementation will make available needed SBG Program assistance to otherwise eligible small businesses and facilitate reconstruction and recovery of the Gulf Coast and Florida. The Calcasieu Parish School Board will receive sealed bids until 10:00 A.M., December 1, 2005, at its offices at the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Planning & Construction Department, Chennault Facilities. 3800 Mallard Cove Drive. P.B.#506, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70615 for 2005 Emergency Roof Repairs on F.K. White Middle School, Hurricane Rita Repair Funds, Bid #2006-05PC. Complete plans and specifications may be obtained from Ellender Architects & Assoc. LLC, 1521 Cypress Street, Sulphur, La. 70663. No Bid shall be considered or accepted unless the bid is accompanied by bid security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the Base Bid and all Additive Alternates. The bid security shall be in the form of certified check or cashier's check drawn on a bank insured by the FDIC, or Calcasieu Parish School Board Bid Bond Form contained in the Front End Documents written by a surety company licensed to do business in Louisiana with a A.M. Best rating of "A" or better, countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond insurer as a licensed agent in this state and who is residing in this state. Bids shall be accepted only from Contractors who are licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2163, Act 635, effective January 1, 1989, for the classification Roofing and Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA. R.S. 38:2214. Evidence of authority to submit the bid shall be required in accordance with R.S. 38:2212 (A) (1) (c) and/or R.S. 39:1594 (C) (2) (d). A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the site. This is due to the shortened advertisement period. Each bid must be placed in an envelope, sealed and marked on the outside, "2005 Emergency Roof Repairs at F.K. White Middle School, Bid No. 2006-05PC, to be opened at 10:00 A.M., December 1. 2005, at the Calcasieu Parish School Board, Planning & Construction Department, Chennault Facilities, P.B. #506, Lake Charles, Louisiana 70615. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212 (A) (1) (b), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement for bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not he waived by any public entity. A deposit may be required on the bid documents; however, the deposit shall not exceed twice the actual cost of reproduction. Deposits on the first set of documents furnished bona fide prime bidders will be fully refunded upon return of the documents no later than ten days after receipt of bids. On other sets of documents furnished to bidders the deposit less actual cost of reproduction, will be refunded upon return of the documents no later than ten days after receipt of bids.
