SPECIAL ALERT: HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORT

January 17, 2006 - The School Board planned to Approve the execution of the Disaster Relief Funding Agreements from the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs, for Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, & Wilma. During the months of August, September, and October 2005, the School District was impacted by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, & Wilma. As a result of the damages suffered by the District, we have met the requirements for disaster relief funding. In order to receive these funds, a separate agreement for each hurricane needs to be executed by the District and the District needs to provide three (3) original agreements for each storm to the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Upon receipt of the executed Disaster Relief Funding Agreements, the DCA will be able to release the funds upon approval of our claims by FEMA.
