SPECIAL ALERT: HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORT

 

Separate sealed bids addressed to Real County, will be received until 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday the 2nd day of May, 2006 in the Commissioner's Courtroom at the Real County Courthouse in Leakey, Texas at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for furnishing all labor, material, tools and equipment and performing all work required for MCDONALD RANCH ROAD / NUECES RIVER CROSSING RECONSTRUCTION consisting of a reinforced concrete low water crossing in Real County. Bids must be submitted on the Proposal and Bid Schedule forms provided, and must be accompanied by a bid security in a penal sum approximately equal to and not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. The security may be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond furnished by a reliable surety company having authority under the laws of Texas to write surety bonds in the amount required, with such security made payable without recourse to the County. The envelope containing the bid shall indicate clearly on the front that it is a bid for MCDONALD RANCH ROAD / NUECES RIVER CROSSING RECONSTRUCTION and if a cashier's check or certified check is enclosed. The final Notice of Award of Contract shall be given to the successful bidder by the County within sixty (60) days following the opening of bids and no bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after opening thereof. The successful Bidder must furnish a performance bond and payment bond on the forms provided, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety. Attention is called to the requirement that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as setforth in the prevailing wage rates and contained in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. SPECIAL ALERT: HURRICANE RITA RELIEF EFFORT

 

Sealed proposals addressed to the Sabine River Authority will be received at the office of the Sabine River Authority, Authority General Office (AGO), mailing and physical address 12777 Hwy 87 North, Orange, Texas 77632 until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2006; for furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and superintendence for the Clean-up & Disposal of Hurricane Rita Debris. The bids will immediately thereafter be publicly opened and read aloud at that location. Any bids received after the closing time will be returned unopened. The scope of work includes removal of previously stockpiled logs & debris located on the banks of the waterway for approximately 4 miles north of the Gulf Coast Division pumping plant intake canal. All debris shall be transported to a staging area and transported to a State licensed disposal facility. The Owner reserves the right to waive any formalities or technicalities and to reject any or all bids. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, a bid security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Any bidder that withdraws his bid within 80 days after the actual date of the bid opening thereof will forfeit his bid bond. Award of this contract, if any, will be made on the basis of the lowest responsive bid.
