SPECIAL ALERT: HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF EFFORT

Sealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Agent of Gautier, Mississippi, at 3330 West Highway 90, Trailer A, Gautier, Mississippi, until 10:00 a.m., Thursday July 26th, 2007, and shortly thereafter publicly opened for the construction of 0.124 miles of BAYOU PIERRE BRIDGE AND APPROACH REPAIRS AFTER HURRICANE KATRINA on the GRAVELINE ROAD, being known as Project No. ER-0494-00(001)LPA/104726-701000 in Gautier, Mississippi. The work shall consist essentially of the following items: Replacement of pre-cast concrete bridge sections damaged by Hurricane Katrina and subsequent asphalt repairs at bridge ends. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. Minimum wage rates have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-58 1, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the Contract Provisions. The Local Public Authority, City of Gautier hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award. The award of this contract will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE/WBE requirements. The cost is twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for plans and twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the proposal, non refundable. Bid bond, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent, with Power of Attorney attached or on file with the Contract Administration Engineer of the Department, a Cashier's check or Certified Check for five (5%) percent of bid, payable to the CITY OF GAUTIER must accompany each proposal.
